One of the most common questions I'm asked is what brand of camera system I use, and why. This page highlights the major items of kit that I use to create my images.
Equipment choice is very much a person thing and in all honesty all camera brands are capable of very decent results. Choice, in my instance, is influenced by how the equipment feels in my hands and the features that it offers.
I've used Olympus cameras since 2014, and was drawn to the brand because of size, the creative art filters, and technical features like Live Bulb, and a live histogram. For anyone making a choice I strongly suggest picking up the latest offerings from all the popular makes and having a play with them, and be clear about what it is that you want to use the camera for. For instance, if indoor still life is your thing then expensive shock resistant, weather proof bodies are unlikely to be of any benefit.
Research is key. Go along to a camera club or a store or a show. Play, borrow, beg, use other peoples setups, and only make a purchase when you are sure. For other items like tripods and tripod heads etc following a similar approach will prevent you from wasting lots of your hard earned cash.
