Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door coastal workshop
We will start in the coastal town of Lulworth and visit both the cove and the secretive Stair Hole. After lunch we will then take the short drive around to Man o War bay and Durdle door. Both locations are geologically rich, with Lulworth also containing a small but lively fishing fleet. No matter the weather these are subject rich locations with a variety of scenes and situations to suit all photographic tastes. Lulworth also has facilities, i.e. toilets, and a decent cafe. The approach to Man o War Bay & Durdle Door is via a steep footpath therefore this is not suitable for participants with any walking difficulties. Participants will be responsible for their own travel, parking, and accommodation (if required) costs. Unfortunately I cannot advise on suitable accommodation options. The workshop fee excludes any personal or equipment Insurance, and participants should bring along a packed lunch and drinks in order to make the most of the day. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. In the event of the participant cancelling the deposit will be held. If I have to cancel for any reason then the deposit will be will be refunded, however I will not be responsible for reimbursing any accommodation or travel booking costs. The focus of the workshop will be to encourage the participants to think about their approach, and to be sure about the "story" they are trying to tell. During the workshop I will also provide guidance on camera settings, filtration and setup, as well as techniques to improve your compositions. You will receive a brief questionnaire before the workshop to allow me to tailor the content towards what you wish to learn.
After the workshop I will remain available by email (preferred) or phone to continue to advise as you view and process your images from the day. |

Quotes from previous participants
"... for the first time in a long time I actually used all the of kit that I heaved around, and whilst before yesterday I was convinced that having a long lenses wasn’t for everyday use my mind has been changed. The format of the day for me was perfect, plenty of time to chat around the subject, critics of some of the photos I had already taken, and a fair amount of friendly banter..." A D M "I hugely enjoyed yesterday and feel much more enthused about taking my photography forward.
By chance we were at Stourhead today and I tried putting into practice what we had learnt with you, particularly histograms. ... I hope that I have learnt about 'where' I am going. I felt totally relaxed all day, not inhibited to ask questions and your took excellent care of us." E.J "Thanks for yesterday - good to be made to think.
I'll get these shots out of the camera shortly - a pause will make me look more critically.!" M.G-J |
